Today marks the end of the first week of Cycle 19. After taking a week off from working out, the workouts and planche training presented a tough but pleasantly surprising challenge. The body has to get readjusted to the tough workouts again. I am confident that I will reach my overall goal of looking better for my 46th birthday. I am working hard on cleaning up the diet and will continue to push on my workouts.
Today, I was my back workout day. After this I went outside

If any of my Natural Muscle Mass friends are members of BodySpace, the first paragraph may be of interest.
If any of you were wondering why you might have a comment listed under your bodyblog, but can’t read it, it is probably due to the fact that you have had your blog "trackbacked" to someone’s webpage. After learning what that is, I am more than a little concerned. It would seem anyone can trackback your blog which shows up on some elses webpage. The problem is that some of

Today’s leg workout was intense! Although I know they are good for me, those squat thrusts absolutely kill your legs when you do them! This is especially true when you use those dumbbells. The next most intensive exercise in this particular workout is the quad squat. I feel this exercise more in my quads than I do when I do my dumbbell squats. I used a weighted backpack to do them and my legs were screaming. A demonstration of the exercise is on my bodyspace page in the video section.

Today was my second planche training workout and the first chest workout of the new cycle. Although I had a great workout, it was fragmented. I had to take a break after completing my planche training, which right now, is going well, but not quite back up to Cycle 18 levels. I completed 2 of the tuck planches at my training time of 50 seconds. The third, however, I fell out of at 48 seconds! I probably can also attribute this to the arm and shoulder workout on yesterday. That was a fairly int

Today was my first arm and shoulder workout of Cycle 19. I must admit that I had a VERY good workout. Given the fact that I took all of last week off with the exception of Monday and DID nothing, everything I did was challenging. It was as if I had to wake my arms and shoulders up to complete the exercises. This did, however, make for a very good workout. My biceps, triceps, and shoulders are tired and achy. Or is that just "old age"?

This afternoon after the 105 degree temperatures began to subside, I did my first planche training of Cycle 19. The tuck planches were scheduled to be trained at 50 seconds. I was able to do 2 at 51 seconds. I, however, lost concentration during the last one and fell out of it at 47 seconds. Nevertheless, it felt good to be working
out again. This will be the cycle that I will hit the 60 second mark.
Everything felt pretty good. I’m going to make every effort thi

It took some time, but I finally got that last workout of my 18th six-week workout cycle done! I skipped a workout on Tuesday simply worked through the remainder of my workouts for the week with the intention of making the last workout up on Sunday (yesterday). Well, it didn’t happen. Another attack of the blahhhs, or perhaps laziness, came over me!
Anyway, I was determined to ride out yesterday and to c

Today, had I not skipped Tuesday’s workout would have been my last workout for cycle 18. Instead, I worked abs today and will finish up the cycle with an all pull-up workout, tuck planches (3), extra push-ups, and 3-mile run on Sunday.
It was HOT, but I decided to suck it up and get everything done today. I worked abs pretty good today and then went outside into the 97 degree heat for the plyometrics and cardio. LOL!

On Tuesday and Wednesday, I was fighting through what I called my "existential angst" moment. The confluence of a lot of little things came together and just built to a point that I was mentally…then physically tired. I will occasionally get so bummed out about things that my mind just can’t get really wrapped around much. Tuesday was the worst day of it. I decided, however, that I was going to work through it on Wednesday. I got up very early and spent the entire day writing treatment plans

Monday night just before going to bed, for whatever reason, and even after a GREAT workout, I felt myself going into a funk! It continued ALL DAY on yesterday. For whatever reason, I could not get my mind into doing anything. I suspect also Instead of fighting it, I just went with it and took the entire day off. I did, however, decide before going to bed on last night that I would get up early today, grind through all of the work I had not completed, and do m

Today, I completed my arm and shoulder workout! Given my walking home for 2.5 miles with about 40 pounds of grocery on yesterday, my arms and shoulders were SORE! WOW!
So, with the extra reps for this week’s arm and shoulder workout, I found myself being challenged during the workout. This was in a GOOD way! I am definitely feeling the results of both yesterday’s and today’s workouts

Today begins my last week of my 18th six-week workout cycle. As always, the workout week begins with Sunday’s planche push-up training. As I wrote on Friday, I was not sure whether to push on the training or to wait until the beginning of cycle 19 on July 25, 2010. For whatever reason, I decided to push on the tuck planches. I EASILY broke the 50 SECOND barrier today! I was sort of shocked. I did two of the tuck planches at 50 seconds. During the last one, my

Today, with the back workout, plyometrics, and 2-mile run, I completed week 5 of my current 6 week workout cycle! Next week I will be done with yet another workout cycle and will be contemplating what to change from a workout standard, if anything. Those of you who have been following me and know the type of workouts I do, please feel free to offer suggestions. Overall, I believe the last two cycles have been some of my most productive. I want to, however, add a few new exe

Today I waited until around 4:30 pm to start my workout. I took the early part of the day to hang out with my niece and to complete some of the work that I have left to do. I still, unfortunately, have a small stack to complete.
Hopefully, I will get everything done by tomorrow afternoon and go into the weekend with nothing hanging over my head.
I completed my tuck planches today.

I went ahead and braved the heat to get the leg workout and cardio done today. As I write this the current temperature has reached 101 degrees! I decided that I didn’t want to wait to do the workout. I hydrated myself very well for the cardio and set a reasonable pace. Surprisingly, there was breeze and a few clouds overhead. All of this helped to keep the heat from being so oppressive.
I hit the legs very hard. For the past two weeks, I’ve had very good leg workouts. T

I just completed my planche training, chest workout, and 3-mile run. I waited out the heat today which reached 102 degrees. When I started my run today, the temperature had fallen from a boiling 102 to a simmering 92 degrees.
It was, however, the difference between a very poor cardio session and a pretty good one for me.
The planche training went very well. I probably could hav
